I did my grocery shopping during the Super Bowl yesterday. It was great! I grabbed a close-in parking space, strode through unclogged aisles, was first in line (and only one in line) at the deli counter, and proceeded swifty through check out.

Planning activities during off-peak periods is often beneficial - like booking hotels in northern cities during January (local associations, of course), avoiding rush hour traffic, or flying at low-demand times (but no six a.m. flights, thank you).

It reminds me of Friday afternoons during the summer months. Some people are out of the office, others are in but might as well be out, and nobody is returning telephone calls.

I get a lot of work done when colleagues are playing hookey and I did a lot of shopping when other folks were glued to the game.
